Dan has twenty years experience specialising in the repair and maintenance of traditional buildings.
Dan’s expertise in traditional buildings is exceptional. His inspection of our cottage, which included drone photography, was incredibly thorough, clear, and tailored to the unique nature of the property. He combines deep technical knowledge with genuine craft experience, offering practical solutions that respect the building’s heritage. Dan’s integrity, passion, and commitment to using the right materials gave us real confidence in every recommendation.
We would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone seeking skilled, thoughtful work on a traditional home.

As a result of Dans intervention, the project is about to be implemented by a suitably experienced craftsman.
I was impressed with Dans approach from the first moment of contact, which was refreshingly efficient compared with my experience of the other company. He was customer focused in terms of what I wanted to achieve from the project and in discussing options. The cottage is a listed building and I wished to ensure that the existing timber elements of the staircase were understood and the that the chosen option should provide the least disruption of the historic features and should indeed enhance them. It was clear that Dan had an understanding of historic structures as well as his evident craftsmen skills and the project was effectively specified and a craftsman selected for the work.

Dan completed the joinery both in the workshop and on site at our ancient barn in Herefordshire earlier this year. It was an unusual situation as the company he worked for was closing down before the project was complete. Dan helped to liaise (and negotiate) in quite difficult circumstances between what was left of the management of the building company and ourselves. He did an excellent job of helping everyone leave the situation feeling positive. Over the course of a few weeks he ensured much of the internal and external joinery, including the staircase was built and installed. He also pre-empted the snagging list and worked to greatly reduce it, so that a final settlement could be agreed upon without too much issue. At the time Dan approached the situation with fairness, compassion and humour. The joinery was finished to a high standard and, with Dans help in mediating the situation we were able to amicably draw the project to a close.
